Four crews of work cover most of what goes wrong in a hillside suburb of detached houses and acreage blocks. Here is where each one starts.

When water or gas is where it should not be:

The everyday jobs around taps, toilets and fixtures:

Water going where it should, or refusing to:

Showers, tanks and tempering valves:
$0 call-out fees, available 24/7, and same-day where we can.

Two building eras sit side by side here, and they fail in different ways.
The first streets went in through the early seventies on the hill west of Cashs Crossing, and the push out onto acreage ran on from the late nineties. A 1978 brick-veneer and a 2004 build can back onto each other along the same road.
Census figures put the suburb at 7,822 people across 2,478 dwellings, with 99.2 per cent separate houses and a median age of 38. That means big homes, several bathrooms, and hot water systems carrying a real load every night.
The late-nineties estates are old enough for original tanks to give out. Solar hot water leads heat pump in this postcode, 796 installs to 484 in the latest tally, so collector and tank tend to age together.

Something going wrong right now? Do this first:

Not sure which page you need? Each service page below opens onto the full list of jobs inside it.
Burst pipes, overflowing toilets, gas smells and dead hot water all live under emergency plumbing. If water is moving or you can smell gas, start there.
Taps, toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, hidden leaks and gas appliance work sit under general plumbing. Most booked visits begin with one of those six.
Slow drains, sewer blockages and stormwater that will not shift are covered under drainage. The old clay and asbestos-cement sewers under the original hill estate make the drainage page worth a read.
Repairs and full replacements, solar included, sit under hot water. If the tank is leaking from the base, replacement is usually the honest answer.

The ground itself shapes half the jobs we do out this way.
The South Pine River runs along nearly all of the southern edge, and Council's flood overlay tracks it through Bunya Crossing Road, Rivergum Drive and Confluence Court. The Bunya Crossing ford never got a bridge, so a river rise can cut the southern streets off entirely.
Council's landslide hazard overlay picks up the slopes in the western part of the suburb, where storm run-off gathers speed on the way down to the gullies. Drains on hard falls behave nothing like drains on the flat.
Koala offset bushland and corridor country threads between the estates here, and gum roots push into house drains and trench lines on the lots that back onto it. Roots, slope and floodwater, all in one suburb.

The split matters before anyone digs, and this suburb has two of them.
Unitywater maintains the public sewer and the water mains; whatever sits past the boundary is yours and your cost to repair.
Unitywater's sewer connection area takes in just the closer-built eastern estates, so homes on the rural-residential blocks mid-suburb and further west treat their own wastewater on site.
Out there every visit covers your treatment tank and its trenches. If you are unsure which side of the line your place falls on, ask when you ring.

We do not publish dollar figures, because an honest price rides on what the job turns out to be. What we can tell you is the shape of it.
A drain beneath a highset house up on the hill is a different job to one under a slab.
Asbestos-cement and clay mains around Olympus Court and Minerva Court slow some repairs compared with the PVC-U used elsewhere.
A like-for-like tank swap costs less than moving a system to a new position or a new type.
Inside the connection area the sewer takes your waste; out on the acreage your treatment plant and trenches are part of the job.
The full figure is on paper before the work begins. That is the whole point of quoting first.
Our regular run spreads out from the hill in every direction. Each suburb page below covers the conditions we find there.
We also cover the country in between. If your street is not on the list, ring and check: places near the hill are usually on the run.

All four show up in how we quote, not just in the advertising. You will hear them in the first call.
